Wain Colleagues Deliver Pints and Pasties Charity Kits
Participants in a Devon charity fundraising walk were suitably fuelled up thanks to deliveries of pints and pasties from our South West team.
Volunteers from our South West headquarters in Exeter delivered the goodies from Exeter Brewery and Chunk of Devon Pasties, along with t-shirts to people across Devon taking part in the ‘Men’s Walk Your Way’ trek on behalf of Hospiscare.
‘Walk Your Way’ saw participants undertake a sponsored seven-mile walk followed by a live screening of the England versus Ireland Six Nations rugby match.
Hospiscare is the hospice charity providing specialist care to patients and their families living with life-limiting illnesses across Exeter, Mid and East Devon. Established for more than 40 years, the charity supports close to 2,500 people every year.
Gemma Curley, sales and marketing coordinator at Wain Homes who helped organise the volunteering day, said: “The costs of operating Hospiscare have risen by 13% over the past year so events such as Men’s Walk are essential to helping them maintain their vital services.
“At Wain Homes, we have an initiative called ‘Helping Hands’, which sees our colleagues volunteer to support charities and good causes in their local community and we jumped at the opportunity to play our part on making Men’s Walk a success for the 13th consecutive year.”
